Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Field Service Engineer specializing in gauge systems. The ideal candidate will have a background in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics engineering and be open to extensive travel for project requirements. This role involves providing on-site support, installation, and maintenance of sophisticated gauge systems, ensuring optimal performance and client satisfaction.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • - Provide on-site installation, maintenance, and support for gauge systems.
  • - Conduct mechanical alignment of rolls and sensor frames.
  • - Program and troubleshoot PLCs, specifically SIEMENS S7.
  • - Utilize communication protocols such as Ethernet, Profinet, and Profibus for seamless system integration.
  • - Perform hands-on work with electronic boards, including soldering and desoldering components.
  • - Use remote connection software like TeamViewer and UltraVNC for remote diagnostics and support.
  • - Develop and troubleshoot basic software using .Net, Python, and JavaScript.
  • - Adjust and maintain systems involving servo drives and stepper motors.
  • - Travel nationally and internationally for short and medium-term assignments, approximately 60-70% of the year (200-250 days).
Qualifications:
  • - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • - Willingness and ability to travel nationally and internationally based on project requirements.
  • - Basic knowledge of PLC architecture, particularly SIEMENS S7.
  • - Familiarity with communication protocols such as Ethernet, Profinet, and Profibus.
  • - Basic understanding of mechanical alignment techniques for rolls and sensor frames.
  • - Hands-on experience with electronic boards, including soldering and desoldering components.
  • - Basic proficiency with remote connection software like TeamViewer and UltraVNC.
  • - Basic knowledge of development software such as .Net, Python, and JavaScript.
  • - Practical experience with servo drives and stepper motors.

  • - Experience in field service roles, particularly in the gauges or precision measurement industry.
  • - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • - Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
